Stefano Domenicali says Formula 1 will add more Sprint weekends in 2027.

Stefano Domenicali said Formula 1 will announce a larger number of Sprint weekends when it reveals the 2027 calendar. The current season has six Sprint events, a level used since 2023.

The Sprint format uses practice and Sprint Qualifying on Friday, a 100km Sprint on Saturday, then Grand Prix qualifying and the race. Domenicali pointed to Silverstone's Friday crowd of 150,000 as a reason to expand it.
