The revisions target the floor edge, plank and rear wing to control downforce, reduce tyre loads and improve energy management. The rear wing will become about 20 millimetres shallower, while upper-element rotation brackets will be banned.

James Vowles said the changes are significant enough to affect Williams' chassis plans. The rules will also ban exhaust wings while allowing a new brace between the rear-wing supports.
