Piastri said software largely determines where electrical energy is deployed, leaving drivers with little influence beyond an overtaking boost. He believes small coding differences can have a major effect because electrical power accounts for about half of the cars' output.
He expects the problem to ease as manufacturers improve their systems but doubts it will disappear under the current rules. Piastri anticipates fewer difficulties at the Hungaroring because its straights are shorter than those at Spa and Silverstone.
