Guenther Steiner says McLaren is Max Verstappen's only plausible alternative to Red Bull.

Steiner said Ferrari and Mercedes lack suitable vacancies, leaving McLaren as the only realistic destination if Verstappen seeks a stronger team. Verstappen has not publicly confirmed his Formula 1 plans for 2027.

Steiner believes Red Bull retains an advantage because it operates a works power unit developed with Ford, while McLaren uses customer Mercedes engines. Verstappen is nevertheless expected to remain with Red Bull.
