Lella Lombardi remains Formula 1's most recent female race starter 50 years later.

Lombardi started the 1976 Austrian Grand Prix from 24th in a year-old Brabham and finished four laps behind winner John Watson. The race was her 12th and final Formula 1 start.

A year earlier, Lombardi became the first and only woman to score in a Formula 1 Grand Prix, receiving half a point for sixth place in the shortened Spanish Grand Prix.
