Norris said experience has taught him when to speak and how to use his influence within McLaren. He now sees his job as including team leadership alongside driving the car.
The 2025 world champion has extended his McLaren contract through at least 2030. He joined the team as a Formula 1 race driver in 2019 and beat teammate Oscar Piastri to last season's title.
