Villeneuve said watching footage from the film about his father brought him close to tears. The production focuses on Gilles Villeneuve's early racing career before Enzo Ferrari hired him.
The film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 19. Jacques was 11 when his father died during qualifying for the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder.
