Honda is working to improve its upgraded engine's driveability after complaints from Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

Honda found a performance gain when its updated power unit debuted at Zandvoort, but Alonso reported problems with downshifts and engine braking. Stroll said the improvement was insufficient.

Honda tested control changes at Sakura and prepared revised calibration for Monza, where it will assess whether those adjustments improve the engine's behaviour.
