Norris passed Piastri for fourth on the final lap at the Ascari chicane after earlier running onto the grass during their fight. Norris withdrew his initial concern and said Piastri had raced fairly.
Piastri started sixth after a three-place grid penalty and finished fifth. He said managing battery use complicated the battle, but considered fourth and fifth the best result McLaren could achieve.
