Lewis Hamilton retired on lap six in Madrid after losing his brakes. He said the pedal initially changed under braking at Turn 5, where he brushed the barrier, then briefly recovered before the problem returned.
Hamilton said he did not expect anyone to stop Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes winning this year's championship. He arrived in Madrid 76 points behind Antonelli and praised their performance this season.
