Michael Masi becomes head of sporting at SRO Motorsports Australia five years after Abu Dhabi 2021.

The former FIA Formula 1 race director will oversee rules and regulations for GT World Challenge Australia as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries network. Masi left his F1 role after the controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix season finale.

He will undergo an official handover process before assuming the role full-time in 2027. Masi will attend the final two rounds of the 2026 season in Sydney and Adelaide as part of his transition.
