The FIA found Charles Leclerc's Ferrari SF-26 in full compliance with Formula 1's 2026 regulations following an extensive physical inspection after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Leclerc finished fourth in Baku when his car was randomly selected from the top 10 for additional scrutiny as part of routine post-race procedures.
The inspection focused on the internal combustion engine air intake cooling system, along with wiring looms and attached sensors. FIA Technical Delegate Jo Bauer confirmed that all mechanical and electronic components met the requirements of multiple technical regulation articles.
Leclerc had caused uncertainty after accidentally revealing to television crews that he used Ferrari's ADUO2 engine specification in Azerbaijan, much to his team's dismay. Questions had surrounded his engine situation following his heavy crash at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
Ferrari heads to Malaysia second in the constructors' championship, 160 points behind leaders Mercedes. The Scuderia has not won since Leclerc's victory at Silverstone on July 5, with Lewis Hamilton claiming their only other win of 2026 in Barcelona.
