Investment group Otro Capital is in talks to purchase up to 20 percent of the Miami Grand Prix from owner Stephen Ross, according to reports from Front Office Sports. The same firm previously bought a 24 percent stake in Alpine F1 for $200 million in 2023, valuing the team at around $900 million.

Otro Capital has been attempting to sell its Alpine stake for several months after negotiations with Mercedes fell through and talks with former Red Bull boss Christian Horner stalled. The group is reportedly seeking more than $700 million for its share as Formula 1 team valuations have increased significantly since their initial investment.

Miami Grand Prix president Katharina Nowak has positioned the event as constantly innovating and challenging the status quo since Formula 1's return to the United States market. The race has evolved from a novelty event to a firmly established part of the calendar with a contract running until 2041, matching Austria for the longest deal on the schedule.

The potential Otro Capital investment would represent a significant vote of confidence in the Miami Grand Prix's future. Two-thirds of the event's audience comes from Florida, providing a sustainable local fanbase that returns annually without requiring extensive travel arrangements.
