Charles Leclerc called for Ferrari to introduce Formula 1 upgrades quickly after Red Bull showed stronger pace throughout the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia weekend. Ferrari qualified second and fourth with Lewis Hamilton and Leclerc respectively, but Max Verstappen's pole position highlighted Red Bull's recent competitiveness.
Leclerc acknowledged Red Bull's steady improvement over recent weekends, with both Verstappen and Isack Hadjar running strongly throughout practice and qualifying. He noted that Red Bull appeared to have found something that works well, making both their cars very competitive rather than just one driver carrying the team.
Despite trailing Red Bull in qualifying, Leclerc refused to rule Mercedes out of race contention after their inconsistent weekend. He warned against underestimating the Silver Arrows, noting they rarely get developments wrong and have been championship favorites since the season start, even when they struggle in some sessions.
