Former Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene responded to Christian Horner's comments about Ferrari being a dream destination by cautioning that the Red Bull boss's impressive trophy collection could create unrealistic expectations. Arrivabene argued that Horner's proven track record might raise pressure rather than benefit the Italian team.
Arrivabene stressed that Ferrari's problems cannot be solved by one person alone, regardless of their previous success. He noted that Horner would face the challenge of starting over at Ferrari, while the team has lost key engineering talent like Simone Resta, Lorenzo Sassi, Enrico Cardile and Andrea Stella to rival teams.
The Italian emphasized that Ferrari needs calm leadership and freedom to operate effectively rather than simply hiring a successful figure who has already won everything. He questioned whether current team principal Fred Vasseur has sufficient autonomy, suggesting that organizational structure matters more than individual appointments.
Arrivabene acknowledged Ferrari's progress in 2026 despite their recent struggles without podium finishes since Belgium. He concluded that bringing in established winners does not guarantee success, urging the team to avoid creating false expectations while focusing on providing stability and proper working conditions.
