Untelevised team radio from the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia captured Oscar Piastri accusing Alex Albon of brake-checking after the Williams driver slowed suddenly at pit entry. Piastri was forced to brake and take avoiding action when Albon decelerated dramatically while approaching the pit lane.
The FIA took no further action against Albon after investigating the incident, with Piastri later accepting the Williams driver's explanation during the post-race hearing. Albon had slowed to meet the required delta time under virtual safety car conditions, telling media he was barely legal crossing the timing line.
Piastri was also heard calling Fernando Alonso the master of chaos over team radio after the Aston Martin driver took advantage of unpredictable conditions to finish eighth. The comment came when Piastri learned of Alonso's rare points finish during the race's aftermath.
The McLaren driver finished sixth, the same position he started despite the race's unpredictable nature. He described struggling in the tricky wet conditions and acknowledged McLaren wasn't competitive enough on the day, particularly during the first stint when confidence was almost impossible to maintain.
