Carlos Sainz drops to 17th after rare Safety Car penalty.

Stewards penalized Sainz by one lap after finding he overtook the Safety Car when he was not entitled to unlap himself late in the British Grand Prix. The Williams driver fell from 12th to 17th.

The case turned on Silverstone's pit-lane layout. Sainz was lapped at Safety Car line one when entering the pits, but was not a lapped car at the relevant reference point for the unlapping message.
