FIA says a software error caused the British GP restart confusion.

The FIA said race control followed the restart rules because one full lap must be completed after lapped cars are allowed through. The message saying the Safety Car would come in was shown by a software error, so the race stayed neutralised.

Max Verstappen's Red Bull stopped in the gravel at Stowe on lap 48 of 52. Lapped cars were released on lap 51, leaving no legal chance to restart before Charles Leclerc crossed the line.
