Pierre Gasly escapes injury after a heavy FP2 crash at Spa.

Gasly lost the rear of his Alpine at Turn 13, crossed the gravel and struck the barrier with just over 15 minutes remaining. The impact tore off the rear wing and caused extensive damage, but he walked away.

Alpine managing director Steve Nielsen said the mechanics faced a long repair list, although a planned power-unit change already accounted for some of the work. He expected the car to be ready for Saturday.
