Leclerc lost control of his Ferrari while accelerating out of Parabolica on lap two and struck the tyre barrier. He climbed from the car without assistance and was released after visiting the medical centre.
Leclerc had been defending from Oscar Piastri when he spun. George Russell led Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly while the race remained suspended for barrier repairs.
