Formula 1 teams expect a final decision by mid-October on whether the season-ending Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix will take place as originally scheduled for late November and early December. The races have appeared uncertain for months due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East that began in February.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu confirmed the mid-October timeline during Thursday's press conference in Baku, noting that Stefano Domenicali is targeting that timeframe to inform teams. Audi's Mattia Binotto added that the F1 Commission discussed the deadline during Monday's meeting. Italy's Imola circuit serves as the contingency option to close the season if the Middle Eastern rounds cannot proceed safely, with the Italian venue preparing as a backup and set to be compensated for preparation costs.
