Max Verstappen admitted he prefers the current atmosphere at Red Bull without the friction that existed when Christian Horner led the team. The four-time champion told the Press Association that constant tension between people creates an unpleasant environment, even though outsiders might find conflict entertaining.

Verstappen described the current situation under Laurent Mekies as less stressful, noting that everyone leads a stressful life and removing stress whenever possible is beneficial. He emphasized that fewer distractions allow the team to focus on performance rather than managing internal conflicts.

The Dutchman left the door open for Horner's potential return to Formula 1, acknowledging the former team principal did a good job and would likely pursue opportunities if available. However, Verstappen made clear he doesn't consider Horner's future his problem or concern.

Red Bull removed Horner from its ranks last year after a period of controversy and differing results, replacing him with Mekies who took on the role of team principal and CEO. The team now has one win under its belt this season and Verstappen is enjoying the current team dynamics.
