Bahrain will fund most of its relocated Formula 1 race at Sepang.

Malaysian motorsport president Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir said Bahrain will cover a large share of the October event's costs while Sepang acts as host. The race still requires final agreements and World Motor Sport Council approval.

Sepang has continued staging international motorsport since its last Formula 1 race in 2017. Malaysian officials may add experienced personnel or refresher training if the circuit needs further marshal support.
