Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, has been honored with a Global Citizen Award from the Atlantic Council during a ceremony held in New York during UN Assembly Week. The Atlantic Council established these awards in 2010 to recognize individuals whose leadership and contributions represent global citizenship and inspire others to work toward a better world across various industries and professions.
The recognition acknowledges Domenicali's role in expanding Formula 1 into a global cultural phenomenon and his efforts to connect fans worldwide and engage new generations with the sport. Other honorees at the ceremony were actress Cynthia Erivo and national leaders Australia's Anthony Albanese and Finland's Alexander Stubb. Actor Keanu Reeves presented the award to Domenicali, who received congratulatory messages from Formula 1 actor Brad Pitt, tennis player Jannik Sinner, and Prince Albert II of Monaco.
