Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner's public comments about potentially joining Ferrari have created an uncomfortable situation for current Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur. Horner told The Times he would consider returning to Formula 1 as an employee only for Ferrari, generating headlines during the Baku weekend.
Vasseur expressed frustration with the constant speculation, stating that Horner is clearly looking for a job everywhere and that fielding the same question 25 times a day creates a lack of serenity for the entire team. The Ferrari team principal emphasized the difficulty of working under such circumstances.
Former F1 driver Timo Glock criticized Horner's timing, arguing that Vasseur has brought structure and order to Ferrari and replacing him now would be strategically wrong. Ferrari has previously contacted Horner, including a reported 2010 approach as part of a package deal with Adrian Newey.
Lewis Hamilton firmly backed Vasseur when asked about Ferrari's direction, giving a brief but unequivocal 'yes' when questioned about the team being on the right path. The speculation appears to be partly driven by Horner's upcoming book promotional tour.
